"Never doubt a small group of thoughtful people can change the world.
Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." -- Margaret Mead
The Nganjoni Village is a remote, rural village of 25,000+ people in the northern Kilimanjaro District of Tanzania. There is currently no medical care and a single delapitated school, built in 1938. There are high rates of HIV/AIDS, malnutrition, infant and maternal mortality, and devastating poverty.
In partnership with The Women's Education & Economic Centre of Moshi, UNITE is working to support Nganjoni through the provision of funds and expertise. Specific projects we are raising money for include:
1. Renovating the village preschool and primary school (pictured left)
2. Purchasing desks, chairs, books & school supplies
3. Constructing adequate and hygenic latrines
4. Bringing clean water systems to the village
5. Completing the construction of a healthcare facility. Today, villagers must walk more than 9 miles to access even the most rudimentary care.
Please consider a donation to help us help the people to Nganjoni. All donations are 100% tax deductible through Friends of WEECE. Please click here.
