UNITE the World With Africa

Meg Domino, Director of Community Health Programs

Meg Domino is the Executive Director of CARES, a small, independent, nonprofit community health organization. A Certified Health Education Specialist with a Master’s Degree in Public Health from Yale University, and a specialty in Community Health Promotion from Brown University, Meg is currently finalizing her doctoral dissertation on positive youth development and youth risk behavior. Meg has extensive experience with childhood and adolescent health issues as well as professional development and community building. In her formative public health years in East Africa, Meg worked with a rural health care unit on maternal and child health, water sanitation, HIV/STD prevention, and leadership training.

Previous to joining CARES, Meg was founder and president of Health Wave Publishing Company. She co-authored the nationally accredited interactive preK-12 curriculum, still widely used today in schools throughout the country. Meg has developed health promotion workshops for youth and adults, including the award-winning Leadership Challenge©, Take the LEAD©, and Mentoring Through Drama©.

Meg has four children – ages 7 to 19, and is thrilled that her children and husband, Anthony, will join us at the end of our Tanzania journey.
