MARA LOZIER SHORE lives and works in New York City. After attending college at Brown University and law school at Georgetown University, Mara worked as a litigator for several years before taking time to help raise her family. She returned to the work force as a writer and advocate, serving such diverse causes as Solar1, an urban solar education organization dedicated to increasing awareness and presence of solar power, Student Sponsor Partners, a program partnering at-risk students with professional mentors, and Parents In Action, a substance abuse prevention and parenting resource organization. She is also an avid urban gardener/farmer, helping to manage large public gardens within New York City.
While Mara continues to find serving communities close to home rewarding, she is eager to share her skills and energy with a global community. She is excited to have this opportunity to build connections, utilize shared strengths, and optimize human and natural resources to improve quality of life while learning from those whose experience and perspective varies dramatically from her own.
Mara looks forward to working with UNITE and UNITE's partners to assist with small business development as well as women's health advocacy and education.
