Dede Fratt recently moved from St. Louis, Missouri to Bellevue, Washington with her husband, Poe and her two boys, Charlie and Augie. Dede also has a daughter who is a sophomore at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.

Before arriving in St. Louis, Dede was a member of the Junior League and worked on numerous projects in Manhattan, including tutoring grade school children in Harlem.  In St. Louis, Dede was more involved in her children’s schools as a classroom volunteer.  She was also a board member of the Women’s Society for Washington University in St. Louis and the Missouri Historical Society.

Dede recognizes the rewards of volunteering and making meaningful connections. She has known UNITE`s founder, Anne Wells, for more than five years and is familiar with the important work that she is accomplishing in Tanzania.

Dede`s interest in UNITE the World With Africa grew after she hosted a successful fundraiser for the Tanzania Children’s Fund last spring in St. Louis.  Her friendship with the founders of these two organizations has allowed Dede to participate in this amazing journey to learn more about these worthwhile causes.
